Welcome to Jet Lag: Oxford!
We're an Oxford University student society who play travel games across Oxford and beyond. For fans of Jet Lag: The Game, transport nerds, or anyone who likes the sound of Hide + Seek across Oxford!
Join the Discord server or sign up to the mailing list to keep up to date with our upcoming events!
Games
We play a wide variety of games, both inspired by the show and some of our own original designs.
We encourage members to get involved in game design, testing out new formats regularly - here are some of our best!
Hide + Seek
Find a hiding spot across a transport network and evade the seekers for as long as possible!
Tag
Get as close to your end location as possible before the chasers can catch you!
Land Grab
Claim zones and lock or steal them with secret challenges!
CAPITAL
Risk your money on challenges and invest more than your opponents across the boroughs of inner London!
Stations Panic / Tramopoly
Complete challenges across the London Underground or Manchester Metrolink and claim lines to win!
Square Off
Race to complete a bingo board of scavenger hunt challenges!
Events
During term, we have socials every Thursday and play games most weekends across Oxford, with the occasional trip to London. Our socials are incredibly fun, and include:
- Jet Lag watch parties (of course)
- Presentation nights
- Our termly bar crawl (with added challenges!)
- Game design workshops
- More elaborate events, such as the time we recorded our very own episode of Taskmaster!
Outside of term, you'll find us meeting up every so often for a big city game across London, Birmingham and beyond...
Termcard
During term, you can find a list of socials and games we'll be running here. We'll upload the next one as soon as it's ready!
Membership
After trying out three of our games, we ask our players to become a member by contributing a small fee towards the running of our club. As a member, you can attend all our games, and have a say in the society, by:
- Running & voting in elections for Committee
- Proposing & voting on motions in General Meetings
- Voting in the occasional poll about which games to play in the next term
This money goes towards promotional materials and equipment for our games and socials, and membership costs £6 yearly or £15 lifetime.
